Re: Recommend a Documentary
American Nightmare is good, insane how the police and FBI handled that.

Watched Captains of the World, on Netflix. Pretty decent stuff, apart from Aluko appearing in it. They even put ‘England legend’ under her name. Ridiculous box ticking. Utterly useless commentary from her as usual.

Watched this yesterday. Must be the hardest hitting documentary I've ever seen, very sad and a real roller coaster.

"Behind The Gate"

Horse-racing documentary (2013) - 85 minutes duration.

Narrated by Joe Pesci

Worth a watch

Been recommended Painkiller. It's about the start and aftermath of the big-pharma-fueled opioid pandemic in the US, which as far as I can tell is now pretty much out of control. Grim viewing but it's a duty, I suppose.

Those into F1 the Brawn four parter on Disney+ is a decent watch.

Not just the fairy tale of a constructor's championship and driver's championship but the background turmoil of barely any money, jealousy of the big teams and the politics between the teams and Ecclestone and Moseley.

The only issue is the presenter Keanu Reeves, surprised he didn't send any of the interviewee's to sleep.

Ch4 now, Miners Stroke, looks decentl

Just watched the first episode - great viewing!
Must admit it shocked me how much The Miners loved their hard-working, filthy jobs!

Another shout for:
World War 2 - From the Frontlines

A bit biased towards the US and it misses out important battles like Arnhem and Burma but very good nonetheless.

Fantastic colored enhanced film.

It’s a pity nobody has ever a documentary on the three guys who got shot in Rettendon. That’d be worth watching ;>)

A Life Of Crime 1984-2020 is great, a bit grim and probably one of the most gutting things I've ever watched but fully recommend it despite these things!

What zico said... American Nightmare incredible story...

Half way through the new Netflix 8 parter on last years 6 Nations tournament (Full Contact) very well made and a great insight into the background (players/coaches) etc... it's not quite a warts and all Living with Lions but it's very watchable

Having not watched a Who Do You Think You Are for about 8 years I watched Josh Widacombe's one this week (think it was probably a repeat)... no spoilers but it is definitely worth a watch... on BBC iPlayer.

Re: Recommend a Documentary
American nightmare on Netflix is a pretty incredible crime drama and the US police don't come out of it very well.

Watched Schumacher tonight. Not an F1 fan but these F1 docs are very good. Senna and Mansell were also excellent. Incredible when you look at the risks these guys took that it's bizarre bad luck that killed Senna and severely injured Schumacher.
